Thursday, 21 May 2015, saw the Initiation of our latest candidate, Bro John (Jonny) Gooding. The WM conducted the Ceremony with suitable decorum, ably assisted by the other Officers of the Lodge. Bro Tom Browne, yet again, presented the long version of The Apron and also The Charge and deserves all plaudits given. Bro Rob Dunseith escorted the Candidate with military precision while Bro Tim Nelson presented the working Tools

An exemplary Ceremony was followed by a suitably boisterous Festive Board, especially with the Brethren finding out that the Candidate’s first name was Frederick. The evening raised nearly £200 in total which will be utilised to provide raffle prizes for the Winsford Army Cadets who are raising money to provide emergency supply ‘Grab Bags‘ to wounded servicemen returning from various theatres of operation.

John Brunner Lodge member Bro Paul Neal, today presented a cheque to the value of £500 to Oaklands School to assist with funding its Choirs.

He was joined by other JBL members, Bro Kenny Kenworthy, Bro Rob Dunseith & WBro Keith Howbrigg, as the cheque was presented to Hannah Cornwell and Tamsin Ellison, both of whom are members of the Chamber Choir.

The presentation was watched over by the Headmaster, Kevin Boyle and the Choir Director, Nicola Howbrigg.

The funds were raised at a car wash hosted by Bro Paul (Landlord of the Golden Lion) and organised by the Golden Lion Golf Society.

John Brunner Lodge provide manpower throughout the day which raised £1000 overall with the monies being split between Oaklands School and St. Lukes Hospice.

A New Initiate for Kinderton Lodge on 6 May

Kinderton Lodge is carrying on the good work of other lodges in Middlewich with its new initiate, Brother Daniel Andrew Earp.

The Master managed the lodge with expert control and was ably assisted by WBro Doug Watts . A faultless rendition of the charge from the North East was performed by WBro Iain Clark.

WBro John Brown then gave the equally impressive Charge after Initiation. 

The Working tools were presented faultlessly by WBro Gil Warrilow.

Members enjoyed an excellent social board during which further funds for charities were collected.

Goeff Burgess was initiated last night at Middlewich Masonic Hall in a suitably dignified manner by the WM WBro. David Palin. Bro Tom Browne presented the Long Apron as SW and also delivered the Charge after Initiation.

In the absence of our JW WBro. David Kingston delivered the Charge at the North-East and WBro Paul Rose, Bro Jeff’s proposer, presented the working tools. As a finale to the Ceremony, Bro Jeff was presented with the Introduction to Cheshire Freemasonry Manual & associated literature together with the First Degree Ritual Book by the Lodge Mentor, WBro Keith Howbrigg.

The Lodge now looks forward to Initiating its next Candidate on Thursday May 21st, tyling at 18:45.

W.Bro. Graham Harries was installed into the Chair of K.S. by W.Bro.Griffith Evans   assisted by Past Masters of the Lodge.

A great team effort by all.

The Provincial Photographer was in attendance and took photographs of the members of the Lodge after the Lodge had closed 

The Festive Board was relaxed but lively and a good meal was enjoyed with ample wine with the meal.The Master was toasted in the usual way The Masters song was performed by W.Bo.John Booth accompanied by our self taught organist W.Bro. Tom Taylor.

Mid Cheshire Lodge Passes its Latest Fellowcraft

An enjoyable evening was held at Middlewich Masonic Hall on Thursday 25th February 2015 where we were treated to a really excellent and entertaining 2nd degree ceremony of Bro David Lee

Garden Makeover at Ecclesholme RMBI Progresses to Plan

On Saturday 21st March Tim Nelson and his team of volunteers started phase 1b of the garden renovation

project they have undertaken in Ecclesholme, run by the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution (RMBI).

Finally the ground has been further smoothed and prepared for the hands of the more expert gardeners or Phase2  Planting Stage.

We will be communicating the next stage and will be looking for brethren to donate shrubs from their gardens and will appreciate some of the elder brethren joining us on the day to provide us with their gardening wisdom.

A joint initiative triggered by Area 3 Master Masons Forum, supported by the Rough Ashlar Club, John Brunner Lodge, wanting to give something back to eldest of our community.

The home, which is situated in Eccles and is run by the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution (RMBI) which has benefited from earlier help by Freemasons from Cheshire who gave their time and energy for Phase1 in clearing overgrown areas of the home’s garden.
